Funeral services for James Ray Armstrong, 73, of Pearl, were held Monday June 5 in the Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home Chapel in Pearl, with burial at Floral Hills Cemetery in Pearl.

Mr. Armstrong a retired lab tester, died Saturday, June 3 of cancer at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Armstrong was a native of New Hebron, moving to Pearl 38 years ago. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Pearl, and was a United States Army veteran, serving in World War II

Serving as pallbearers were his grandsons Benjamin Joe Eaves, Richard Ray Armstrong, Christopher Joseph Bradley, and Chadwick William Bradley, and nephews, Michael Wayne Griffith, and Sidney Herrington.

Survivors include his wife Rena Nations Armstrong; sons, Kenneth Ray Armstrong and Roger Durrell Armstrong, both of Pearl, and James Gary Armstrong of Madison; daughters Mary Linda Snellgrove of Pearl, and Sybil Gail Bradley of Memphis; brother Albert Eugene "Gene" Armstrong of Jackson; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren
