Bertha was the daughter of John J. Michael and Emma Ogle. On 07 Mar 1922 she married Walter Cox. They died not have any children and later divorced. On 23 Jun 1923 she married Gus Mascaria and they had one daughter, Anna. They divorced and by the time of her father's death she was married to a Mr. Panell. Bertha died of hypertensive heart disease at her home, 1433 N. Chester Avenue, at the age of 82.
