Bobbie Sue Aaron, 78 of Abilene, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016, surrounded by family and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Piersall Funeral Directors, 733 Butternut Street. A visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Piersall Funeral Directors.

Bobbie was born on September 4, 1938 to Roy and Maureen Coffman in Gorman, Texas.

She came to Abilene when she was 15 and worked at Casey’s, Red Barn, and Old Abilene Town, where she made life-long friends with Honey Casey. She loved the many friends she made over the years at Abilene State School 15 years until she retired in 1998.

Bobbie loved fishing trips and some her best fishing buddies were Kay Dalton, her son-in-law, Tony Gilchrest, and family friend Justin Gregory. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Bettie Joe Mayhar, and her husband, Richard Aaron.

Bobbie is survived by her sister, Judith Cochran; her children Tommy Aaron and Sherrie Gilchrest and husband Tony; grandchildren Judy Garza, Cody Aaron and wife Cassie, Torrey Aaron and wife Morgan, Bryan Gilchrest and wife Dominique, and Laura Jung; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Hendrick Medical Center and Hendrick Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Bobbie.

Donations can be made to Hendrick Hospice in honor of Bobbie Sue Aaron.
