Mary Ellen Divin of Clio, age 73, died Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Mary was born May 2, 1943 in Flint to the late Howard and Viola (Ranger) Alburtus. She was a resident of Clio most of her life having lived in Texas for a few years. She married Jerry Divin on January 30, 1995. Mrs. Divin was employed for Kroger/Kessels for over 40 years retiring in 1996. She adored being with her grandchildren, browsing Pinterest and crafting.
Surviving are her husband, Jerry; children, Kim Filek of Clio, Kathy Knispel-Whalen of Oscoda, Karen Knispel-Maciejewski of TX, Rob Knispel of IN, Brian (Penny) Divin of TX; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; siblings, Howard (Sheri) Alburtus of Prudenville, Frances Eldridge of Genesee, Sandi Coates of Burton; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Kerri Knispel; son, Ricky Knispel; son-in-law, Jeff Filek; and brother, Harold Alburtus.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Sunday, November 27, 2016 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Phil Owen officiating. Cremation to follow. Visitation will be on Saturday from 3-7 PM and on Sunday from 1PM until time of services at 2 PM. Contributions may be made to New Covenant Free Methodist Church.
