Greeley Hill resident Evelyn "Dee" Armstrong died Aug. 9 at Sonora Regional Medical Center. She was 69.
Born in Chanute, Kan., to Lillian Shehan and Clyde Albert Freeman, she was a homemaker for 49 years and lived in Greeley Hill for 20 years.
She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post and Ladies Auxiliary in Coulterville.
She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, traveling and going to casinos, especially the Edgewater Casino Resort in Laughlin, Nev.
Mrs. Armstrong is survived by her husband, William Samuel Armstrong, of Greeley Hill; mother, Lillian Shehan, of Greeley; and children, Cheryl Castleman, of Corcoran, Carrie Henzel, of Sonora, Debra Christopher, of Norwalk, Jeri Santos, of Westminster, Carl Thurman, of Coulterville, and Terry Armstrong, of Whidbey Island, Wash.
She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde Albert Freeman; and children, Cindy Freeman, Cathy Reyes and Sonny Armstrong.
