Valencia Baba Sarhad, 89, of Modesto passed away on November 16, 2016. Val was born in Chicago, Illinois, on Jan. 8, 1927, to Peter and Anna Baba. Val was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Sarhad, in 1970.
She is survived by her son, Michael Sarhad, and by her daughter, Shelley Boyd.
Val worked in a variety of jobs from the1940’s to the 1990’s, culminating with president’s secretary at CSU Stanislaus. She retired from work in 1991 and enjoyed cooking, baking, and rooting for the SF Giants and 49ers in her spare time.
