Carl H. Skogen (Roseglen) - Carl Helmer Skogen, 81, Roseglen, died Wednesday. Funeral Sunday at 2, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, rural Roseglen. Burial church cemetery in the spring.
Mr. Skogen was born Jan. 1, 1896, in Dodge County, Minnesota. He was reared there and lived at Sandstone, Minn., prior to his marriage June 23, 1921, to Gunhild Iverson at Red Wing, Minn. They lived at Remer, Minn., until moving to North Dakota in August 1925.
They settled in Deepwater Township, McLean County, where he farmed. He was a member of Bethlehem church and served on the church board. He also was a member of the township and school boards, and of the Roseglen American Legion, having served 18 months abroad during World War I.
Survivors: wife; daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Marion) Bergan, North Aurora, Ill., Mrs. Lloyd (Jeanice) Peterson and Mrs. Russell (Jeanette) Johansen, both Ryder, and Mrs. John (Grace) Hays, Canadaigua, NY; sons, Irving, Roseglen, and Carlyle, Aurora, Colo.; brothers, Ted Skogen, Minneapolis, Minn., and Oliver Skogen, Raymond, Wash.; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Reviewal at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in Minot from 2 to 5 this afternoon and from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday.
