Sandra was born in Danville, Illinois on June 24, 1958, the daughter of Louis E. and LaWanda Buchanan. On July 15, 1998, Sandra married the love of her life, James Metz, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. He survives.
Also surviving are son, Nicholas (Amanda Freeman) Sumila; two daughters, Amanda (Scott) Pittman and Jacqueline (Patrick) Wilson; sister, Ellen (Andrew) Hill; nine grandchildren; nephew, Adam (Mellissa) Haun; niece, Kelly (Ron) Barnett and four great-nieces.
Sandra was preceded in death by her father; brother, Mark Buchanan and sister, Helen Lorraine Buchanan.
Sandra spent 39 years working at Quaker Oats. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling with her husband, their mothers and families to Florida, Maine, Yellowstone, Canada and many other states. Sandra also enjoyed visiting their friends in Louisiana and throughout the South.
Family meant everything to Sandra and she loved her grandchildren very much. She loved spending time with friends. She will be deeply missed by everyone she came into contact with.
