He was married to Helen Virginia Rohrer in 1854.

In 1870, Levi and Helen were living near Champaign Illinois. The following children were listed: George, Ann, John, Laura, Rudolph and Clyde.

In 1910, Levi and his wife Helen were enumerated in Wichita Ward 6, Sedgewick, Kansas, and their granddaughter, Florence Cox, age 24, was living with them.

Their daughter, Anna Sparks Mitchell, died in Chicago on March 31, 1941, at age 81. Her husband was George Mitchell.

Their son, George Allen Sparks, died Feb. 14, 1936 in Pontiac, and was born Jan. 15, 1858 in Evanston, Illinois. His wife was Bertha E.

The Sparks name is spelled wrong in every census and even in Levi's death record.

The Rev. M. L. O'Harra, the pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal Church in Pontiac, Illinois conducted his funeral services.
