On August 25, 1903 as Ferdinand Waldman, he married Flora E. Fendner in the District of Columbia.

Ferdinand Waldman was born in the District of Columbia. He went into business with his father, John Waldman, in a tailor shop at 15th and I Streets Northwest. The firm, John Waldman and Son, was in the 800 block of Connecticut Avenue Northwest when he retired in 1948. He moved to New Jersey in 1949. He was an active Mason and a member of Stansbury Lodge and the Almas Temple. He died at age 86 on Sunday, July 17, 1966 [funeral notice states Monday, July 18, 1966] after a long illness. He was predeceased by his wife, Flora, who died in 1963. Survivors included five daughters: Mrs. Granville Brumbaugh of Westport, Connecticut; Mrs. Joseph J. Muir [1906-2000] of 3612 Prosperity Avenue in Fairfax, Virginia; Mrs. Maybelle Muir [1909-2011] of 5425 Connecticut Avenue Northwest; Mrs. Robert Reid [1915-2007] of Orange, Virginia and Mrs. Henry Kimball Jr. [1918-2007] of 7200 Helmsdale Road in Bethesda; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services were held at Gawler’s Funeral Home at Wisconsin Avenue and Harrison Street Northwest. Interment was at Rock Creek Cemetery.
