Danita "Dinky" Kay Dutton Shinall
(September 10, 1957 - November 22, 2016)

Danita Dutton Shinall (Dinky), age 59, took her Heavenly flight Tuesday, November 22, 2016. She passed peacefully into the arms of her dear Jesus and the host of loved ones waiting there.

Danita was born September 10, 1957, in Calhoun, Ga., the daughter of Earl A. Dutton and Mary El Towe Dutton. She was a member of the Adairsville High School graduating class of 1975. Danita began her career of 41 years at Mannington Mills after graduation and greatly enjoyed both her work and her many friends there.

Danita was a devoted member of Cedar Creek Baptist Church and her strong witness for Jesus Christ was a blessing and inspiration to everyone. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and truly believed that a stranger was just a friend waiting to be met. Her outgoing personality and genuine love for all people could draw everyone in and make them feel special and loved. She delighted in seeing those she loved laughing and having good times, even if it was at her expense. She often spoke of her “Chattanooga Friends” and the special relationship she and Gary shared with them.

“Making Memories” was Danita’s motto and goal. Over many years, precious memories were made with “The Traveling Aunts” consisting of Danita, her mother Mary El, her Aunt Bobby Womack, her great aunt Kitty Worley, and cousin Earlene Dutton.

From the tragedy of losing her 16 year old daughter in a vehicle accident came her fascination of butterflies. Butterflies became a reminder and connection while here on this Earth. Danita never saw a flower or shrub that she didn’t need to identify and even obtain a sample. She admired and respected all of God’s creations.

Danita is preceded in death by her daughter, Whitney Rebecca Shinall, and her beloved grandmother, “Mama Granny”. Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Gary Shinall, daughter Jessica (Kevin) Williams, grandchildren Anslee Williams and Bryson Williams. Also surviving are her parents, Earl and Mary El Dutton, brothers Rocky (Tonna) Dutton, Kevin (Lisa) Dutton, Steve Dutton, and sister Karen Dutton, all of Adairsville, Ga. Nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening, November 26, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Barton Funeral Home, 131 Summer Street, Adairsville, Ga. Services to celebrate the life of Danita Dutton Shinall will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Cedar Creek Baptist Church, Highway 140, Adairsville, Ga. She will lie in state at the church from 1 until 2 p.m. Sunday. Interment will follow in EastView Cemetery, Adairsville, Ga. Officiating ministers will be Rev. Larry Hibberts, Rev. Gregg Free, and Rev. Barry Adcock.
