Lewis W. Curran, Jr, 89, of Parkersburg, passed away November 26, 2016 at the Willows Center. He was born in Parkersburg, April 11, 1927, son of the late Lewis W. and Letha Marlow Curran.


Lewis had proudly served his country in the US Navy. He had worked as a truck driver for several years and with a tire shop for many years while living in Georgia. He returned to Parkersburg in the 1980's. He attended the Davisville Community Chapel and enjoyed singing at church.


Surviving Lewis are his wife Phyllis Mae Hopkins Curran, three children Al Curran, Linda Davis, Brenda Steakley (Nathan), several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, one brother Don Curran of GA and several nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents, Lewis was preceded in death by his first wife Pearl Ann Curran, daughter Letha Curran, three brothers Paul, Russell and Homer Curran, and sister Hazel Collins.


The funeral service will be 11:00 am Tuesday at the Davisville Community Chapel with Pastor Ray Seebaugh officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Grove Community Cemetery with full military rites by American Legion Post #15. Visitation will be from 5 - 8 on Monday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
