Katlyn Nicole Emmaline Baxter, 17, of Niota, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at Starr Regional Medical Center of Athens.

A native of Sweetwater and a longtime resident of McMinn County, she was a senior at McMinn County High School, was a member of Englewood Church of God and attended Victory Praise Church of God in Sweetwater.

Survivors include her father, Bobby Baxter of Niota; Mother Cindy Roberts Baxter of Athens :two brothers, Nychoma Hamlet of Niota, and Houston Baxter of Niota; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Katie and Tony Heck of Black River Falls, Wis., and Desiree Serrano of Sweetwater; two nephews, Journey and Joseph Serrano; her maternal grandmother, Karen Revis of Niota; her paternal grandparents, Don and Kathy Baxter of Monteagle, and Alice and Ronnie Dill of Ten Mile; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by her beloved Great grandmother "Granny" Betty Roberts in Feb 2016

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Englewood Church of God with Brother Scott Cardin and Pastor Terry Ledford officiating. Burial will follow in Hampton Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Terry Baxter, Nychoma Hamlet, Autumn Hansford, Nelson Serrano, Anthony Wright and Chad Barker. Honorary pallbearers will Randy Hackler, Chris, and Allen Stephens.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
