Although her name is on the Smothers monument, Eppa is not listed in the records of the Daniel D. Smothers family plot. The lot was purchased April 18, 1906 for the burial of Ella Smothers and there is no record of the remains of Eppa being moved here.

The Smothers plot includes Ella J. (Hicks) Smothers, Henry William Coffman and his wife Sallie (Warder) Coffman, James E. Coffman and his wife Naomi (Smothers) Coffman Tanner, according to cemetery records.

Eppa may have died at Fairbanks on May 20, 1900, and may have been buried at Fairbanks Cemetery, but unable to confirm at this time.
