Mr. John Henry Rabon, 80, husband of Mrs. Essie Mae Rabon, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
Born March 9, 1936 in Aynor, Mr. Rabon was the son of the late Abram Tabram Rabon and the late Becky Jones Rabon. Mr. Rabon was a life-long farmer and a member of Pleasant Union Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and building committee member. Mr. Rabon enjoyed fishing, riding horses, and taking trips to the mountains. His favorite pastime was spending time with his family, who he loved dearly. Mr. Rabon was predeceased by his parents.
Survivors include his loving and faithful wife of 62 years, Mrs. Essie Mae Rabon; his children, Harold Wayne (Brenda) Rabon, Rickey Rabon and his former wife, Karen, and Jackie (Ivey) Calder, all of Aynor; his grandchildren, Amanda (John) Goff, Kristi (Greg) Lewis, Jennifer (Reggie) Enlow, Ashley (Derrick) Tyler, Casey (David) Skipper, Justin (Elizabeth) Calder, and Derek Rabon; his great-grandchildren, Rylee, Bailee, Natalee, Emma Grace, Reagan, Blakely, Whitley, Maggie, Peyton, Noah Wayne, Kale, Lux, and Madison; his sisters, Latha Rabon, Irene (Tom) Altman, and Cynatha (Dr. Robert) Cockrell; and his brother, Leon (Susie) Prosser.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Pleasant Union Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Dock Rabon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00PM-8:00PM Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway Chapel.
