Domenico Anthony (Domenic) Conca was born on August 23, 1925, in North Providence, Rhode Island to Antonio Conca and Anna (Conca) Conca. His mother was born to the Providence County, RI Concas and his father to the Bucks County, PA Concas.

Dom was raised in an extended -- and boisterous -- Italian American family. When he started high school, the family relocated from Providence to Charlestown, MA. Those were good days, and difficult ones. His little brother Henry was born in 1941, but died a few months later. Dom graduated from Charlestown High and Boston College, and then went on to earn a DMD from Tufts University, where he met and fell head over heels in love with Ella Rose Simon, who was working at the University as a secretary. They married on June 30, 1948 at Saint Agnes Church in Arlington, MA.

Dom and Rose raised six healthy, happy children together — five sons and one daughter. The family lived in Randolph where Dom started a dental clinic that he ran for more than 50 years. His mother, Anna, was the receptionist for the practice and lived in an apartment behind the office. Dom tended to his own children's teeth, but also to those of his nieces and nephews, cousins, etc. When a family member found it difficult to pay, Dom took trade of all kinds to make sure that every one of the children was well cared for.

During the Korean War, Dom was a paratrooper with the Army Dental Corps, 82nd Airborne Division. Later, he himself became a pilot, flying his own Cessna 150. Dom and Rose loved to live and laugh — going out with friends every Friday evening, and spending warm summer days at their cottages, first at the Cape, and later in Freedom, NH on Ossippe Lake. Dom took the children boating and fishing and introduced them to interesting foods and beat them at cards. He taught them to ski in the White Mountains. He had beautiful, sensitive hands and played the piano and organ daily. He could always tell a good joke.

After 42 years of marriage, Dom lost Rose to lung cancer in 1990. The family was devastated.

He married again on November 25, 1992 in Monroe, Florida. He and his second wife remained together for the rest of his life, living in Randolph and at Cape Cod, MA.

Domenic died in Randolph on November 29, 2016, under the care of his family, in the home were he had raised his children, and where Rose had died, according to his wishes.

Domenic is buried next to Rose in the Saint Mary Cemetery in Randolph — just feet away from the school their children attended.

He is missed.
