She was married to Grant Franklin. Was the mother of 7 children but only 3 lived to be adults. One daughter Alice died at 14 of Typhoid. Agnes Ann Franklin Barnes lived to be 89. She had 5 grandsons, Charles Lucas Franklin,Maurice Holmes Franklin, Alvin, Edward and Roland Franklin. The Franklins were a musical family. The 2 sons, Maurice Clay Franklin played the violin and Edward played the guitar. They usually joined a cousin John who played the ukelali. Her husband and her were Seventh Day Adventists and left Carroll county Maryland after being persecuted because they worked on Sunday. They moved to Ferndale Maryland in the early 1900's and lived there until their deaths. Parents were George J. Batson and Mary Batson. Sister to Mary Batson, Charity Batson and George Batson all of Carroll County.

On April 17, 1950, Anna at her residence, 320 Broadview boulevard, Garland Park, beloved wife of the late Grant Franklin and the beloved mother of Maurice C., Edward G., and Agnes A. Franklin.

Funeral will be at the above residence on Thursday at 1 P.M. Services will be held in the Seventh Day Adventist Church Glen Burnie at 2 P.M. Interment at Glen Haven Memorial Cemetery.
