Mrs. Myrtle Opheim Funeral In Thor

Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Opheim, 85, of Thor, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Thor Lutheran Church. Burial was in West Ullensvang Cemetery near Thor. Mrs. Opheim died Sunday night at the Hampton Nursing home. She had been visiting her daughter in Hampton when she became ill. She is survived by four sons, Julius, Rochester, Minn., Maurice of Thor, Irvin of Humboldt and Arthur of Roswell, New Mex. also two daughters, Mrs. Robert Burns of Hampton and Mrs. Florence Norem of Albert Lea, Minn. She is survived by one brother, Walter Flower of this city, 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Opheim was the former Myrtle Flower of Eagle Grove. She graduated from high school here in 1900. She taught school in the Thor community and was married to George Opheim in 1902. They farmed in that area for many years and moved to Thor in 1943. Mr. Opheim died in 1955.
