OGDEN – Dr. Paul Faddies Naisbitt, 89, passed away on December 1, 2016 from causes incident to age.

He was born in Ogden, Utah on January 27, 1927 to Byron W. and Catherine Hunter Naisbitt. He attended Ogden High School and joined the U.S. Coast Guard his senior year in January of 1945 during WWII where he was stationed in Groton, Connecticut and New Orleans, Louisiana. He treasured the freedoms of this country.

Upon his return he began his studies at the University of Utah where he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity and the Phi Kappa Phi medical society. He spent his summers conducting research and experiments with sarin nerve gas at the Dugway Proving Grounds.

He married his true love and best friend, Maurine Snarr on December 16, 1949 and graduated from the University of Utah Medical School in 1952. Together they had four children.

He practiced obstetrics and gynecology in Missoula, Montana; Roy and Ogden, Utah. He served as chief of the obstetrics and gynecology department at the McKay Dee Hospital, was President of the Utah State Obstetrics-Gynecology Society for three years and was active in various community service projects. He espoused, “See a need and fill it.”

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, skiing, traveling, camping, and boating. He had a talent for business and investing and was proud of creating many jobs.

But his greatest source of happiness was his loving relationship with his wife, Maurine with whom he was inseparable. He dearly loved his family for whom he tirelessly sacrificed throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife and children: Paula, Dr. Jed (Amy), Dr. Mark (Meg), and Brad (Gina); 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his brother, Dr. Byron Naisbitt.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandsons: Cole and Zeke Naisbitt.

The family is grateful for the sincere and compassionate care of Dr. Glen Biddulph and the staff at Stonehenge and Lotus Park Assisted Living for their kind help and assistance. In Paul’s words, “You have enjoyed me long enough.” “Not goodbye, just so long.”
