He was the father of Hayden, Lela (Hickman) Charles, Herbert, Lewis, Joel Taylor, Minnie (Taylor) and Wade. He, like his father, and son Lewis, died early in life. Mary Ann had Hayden come back from fighting in the Spanish American War to help run the family.
