Son of Irish Patriot Michael Larkin. After his father's execution at Manchester in 1867, Patrick was sent to St. Jarlath's college, in Tuam, County Galway, where he studied for two years; the tuition being paid by the Marchioness of Queensberry.
Patrick emigrated to the U.S. in 1875, joining his mother, Sara [who emigrated in 1869]. By 1879 he had learned the skill of a printer. In 1882 he "went out West", returning to New York by 1892 and living in a boarding house with other printers.
He was hospitalised in the Fall of 1893, and died shortly after.
He is buried in the cemetery plot owned by the Printer's Union to which he belonged.
