Lynn (Marilynn) B. (Yorgason) Elliston, age 75, passed away in Bellingham on Sept. 10, 2014. She was born April 7, 1939 in Vancouver, BC, Canada to Otto Ernest Fischbacher and Lucretia Maude (Copley) Fischbacher.
At the age of 13 she moved with her mother and brother to Nephi, Utah where her mother married John Gayle Yorgason. Lynn's last name was changed to Yorgason at that time. She graduated from Juab High School in Nephi, Utah in 1957.
Her first marriage was to Mike Calahan in 1958 with whom she had 4 children. After their divorce, Lynn was a single parent raising the children for 20 years. During that time she worked in an assessor's office, served on a Utah State Correctional Advisory Board, drove a bus, and played piano in restaurant lounges. Lynn graduated from Weber State College in 1983 with a double major in Broadcast Communication and English. She enjoyed acting, and was in several Summer Stock Theater productions. While at college she also taught piano and voice lessons.
It was at Weber State College that she met Ronald R. Elliston. They dated for a year and married on April 9, 1983 in the Ogden Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Lynn is survived by her husband, Ronald of 31 years, a daughter, Ronetta Fritz, her son, Michael (Susan) Calahan, her daughters, Maureen Calahan, Melodie Hartsock, Mona Calahan, and a son, Steven (Esmeralda) Elliston, 14 grandchildren and 11 greatgrandchildren.
A memorial service for Lynn will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014, 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Latter Day Saints, 5800 Northwest Road, Ferndale WA. Viewing will be at 11:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. on the same day. Cremation will take place following the memorial service
