Long Illness of Much Beloved Woman Terminated Early Today.
Mrs. Lillie Lee Brumfield, 49, widow of Joseph Brumfield, died at the Hoppenrath hospital, where she had been a patient for the last two weeks at 1 o'clock this morning, of complication of diseases. She had been in failing health for the past three years and seriously ill for a number of months.
Mrs. Brumfield was born in Tipton county, Nov. 29, 1874, and was married to Joseph Brumfield Feb. 25, 1890. He died several years ago and she is survived by two children, Walter F. and Miss Roxie Brumfield, both of this city. She leaves three sisters, Mrs. Hannah Neehouse, of Indianapolis; Mrs. Murphie Brumfield, of Tipton, and Mrs. Julia Shutlz, and one brother, Australia Alexander, of Rochester.
Mrs. Brumfield was one of Elwood's much beloved women and had many friends who will regret to learn of her death. She was a member of the East Main Street Christian church and a worker in all of its activities.
The body was taken to the late residence at 1929 South A street, where it will remain until the time for the funeral. Services will be conducted at the Christian church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the pastor, Rev. E. S. DeMiller, and the burial will be in the city cemetery beside her husband.
