"Lyle Donald Tippery was born January 21, 1925 to Roy and Myrtle (Hightree) Tippery in rural Decatur, Nebraska, in the home where he currently resided. He passed away December 3, 2016, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, Nebraska, at the age of 91.

He attended Busse School District 10, until the eighth grade, and graduated from Decatur High School in 1942. He attended the Lincoln School of Commerce for one semester, and then went home to help his father farm. He married the love of his life, Helen Froid, on March 27, 1949. To this union four children were born; Larry, Cheryl, Susan and Janelle.

Lyle spent his life working on his family farm. Over the years his hobbies were woodworking, traveling and most recently, making bread and rolls for his family and friends. His greatest joy was his family. He was a lifelong member of Decatur Methodist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Board for many years; he was a lay member to the Annual Conference for over 30 years. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau and the National Pork Producers.

Lyle’s last day was spent with all of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren by his side. The last moment of his life was spent with his wife and two daughters.

He was preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Kirtland Card; sisters-in-law, Laura Tippery, Helen V. Tippery, Delores and Glenn Hunter.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen; daughters, Susan (Wayne) Hansen, Janelle (John) Ray; son, Larry (Sandy) Tippery; grandchildren, Jonathan (Amber) Hansen, Grant (Ashley) Ray, Abra (Jeremy) Bridges, Morgan (Mitch) Sapp, Rebecca (Brent) Wood, Deb (Josh) Hewitt, Rachel (Jesse) Green, Steven (Sherry) Tippery, Michelle (James) Bowen; 16 great grandchildren; brothers, Elmer Tippery, Glen (Joan)Tippery, Vern (Gwen) Tippery; sister, Velma (Erwin) Hennig; many nieces, nephews and other relatives."
