Edward J. Kunsman, 93, of Vienna, passed away Aug. 21, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg.

He was born May 23, 1915, in Pittsburgh, Pa., a son of the late Edward Herman and Clara Marie Kunsman.

Ed was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Parkersburg, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, a member of the Parkersburg Elks Lodge 198, The American Legion Post 15 and the Masonic Lodge 172 of Vienna. Mr. Kunsman retired as a Project Manager from the Dravo Corporation of Marietta in 1980 after 33 years of service. He then owned and operated Valley Consultants Inc. of Vienna for a number of years.

Ed is survived by his sons, Roy J. Kunsman and his wife, Kathy, of Summerfield, Fla., and Edward H. Kunsman of Warren, Pa.; his daughters, Edris Ann Frazier and her husband, Robert, of Vienna and Julie Marie Hailstone and husband, Robert, of Wexford, Pa.; his brother, Walter J. Kunsman and his wife, Norma, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; his grandchildren, Terri Kunsman, Roy J. Kunsman Jr., Edward Kunsman, Leigh-Ann Kunsman, Sue Druchel, Jodi Lucas, Mark Kunsman, Becky Hurst, Rachael Frazier, Kelsey Hailstone and Jenna Hailstone; and several great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Gertrude Marie Kunsman; son, William Robert Kunsman; brother, Raymond Kunsman; and sister, Helen Seiler Baldwin.

Our Dad was a kind and sensitive man with a wonderful sense of humor. His happiest moments were the times he spent with his family. He will be sadly missed by his loved ones and friends.

Services to honor the life of Edward J. Kunsman will be 11 a.m. Monday at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with the Rev. J. David Easter officiating. Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full military graveside rites by Parkersburg American Legion Post 15.
