Ilene W. Kohlmeyer (1922-2006)
WATERLOO - Ilene Wilma Poling Kohlmeyer, 84, of Unionville, Mo., formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, Dec. 28, at her home of a sudden illness.
She was born May 23, 1922, in Keosauqua, daughter of Otto C. and Anna Webester Poling. She married Clarence Kohlmeyer on Oct. 30, 1938. He preceded her in death July 27, 1984.
Mrs. Kohlmeyer and her husband moved to Waterloo where they both worked at Rath Packing Co. She worked there from 1943 to 1979 and retired after more than 35 years on the job.
She was a member of Moose Auxiliary, the Cootiettee Club, the Eagles Auxiliary, the High Steppers Red Hat Club and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary. She was a member of the United Methodist Women's Group and Linden United Methodist Church, Waterloo.
Survived by: a granddaughter she raised, Diana (Randy) Frost of Unionville; a great-granddaughter, Amanda Frost of Unionville; a stepsister, Nova Degelau; three sisters-in-law, Nina Poling, Lucille Poling and Edna Poling; and two stepsisters-in-law, Irma McIntosh and Mary McIntosh.
Preceded in death by: her husband; her parents; a daughter, Donna Archer; three brothers; five stepbrothers; and a stepsister.
Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Linden United Methodist Church, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, and from 11 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
