Carolyn Kay Keltner, age 81 of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, December 06, 2016, at her residence in Highland, IL.
She was born September 19, 1935, in Alton, IL, the daughter of Kenneth and Clara (nee Greenwood) Grizzle.
On February 19, 1956, she married Charles Franklin Keltner Jr. at St. Paul Methodist Church in Brighton, IL. He passed away on March 15, 2008.
She was a former member of First Congregational Church and Dorcas Fellowship in Highland.
Kay grew up on a farm near Brighton, IL and graduated from Brighton High School in 1952. In 1956 she graduated as a nurse from St. Joseph School of Nursing, Alton, IL. She worked as a nurse at a hospital in Berwin. She later worked as a nurse at St. Joseph Hospital, Highland. She was the patient care coordinator, a trauma nurse specialist; and in charge of the Emergency Room. She retired in the early 1990's. She really loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing bingo, fishing, bird watching and collecting owls.
