Janie was born in Ridgeway, South Carolina to Herbert Branham and Janie Branham. She married her sweetheart, Lilburn (Libby) Clark Joyner, on December 9, 1954. He preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Janell Lowry (Steven), Myron Joyner (Chere’), Celesta Virgin (Dana), Sterling Joyner (Jaki), Karen Mizen (Eric), and Marty Joyner (Tiffany). She has 21 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
She worked to help provide for her family by babysitting in the home and working at KMart and also to support her children who served as missionaries. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities including Relief Society president, Primary president, and many other Relief Society and Primary callings. She loved temple trips to the Washington D.C. temple and loved going there with ward sisters. A big part of her life was being charitable to everyone. Her family was her life.
Libby was in the Air Force and she traveled a lot happily to places which include South Carolina, Texas, Oklahoma, Guam, Alaska, North Dakota, Louisiana, and Georgia. He worked for the post office after retiring from the military. During the year that he was stationed in Viet Nam, she lovingly took care of the family.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 17th at 11 a.m.
