Lou Scates,80, of Winters, died December 3,2016. She was born February 23,1936 in Wingate(Happy Valley), Texas and moved with her family to Imperial Valley, California at the age of seven. She married Al Scates November 1,1955 in Imperial Valley. They moved to Winters, Texas in 1962 and lived here since. She worked for Dry Manufacturing Company for several years. She was a member of the North Main Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by her husband: Al Scates of Winters, 2children:Terrie Young of Euless, Texas and Tommy Scates and wife Mona of Bronte, Texas, 2 sisters: Nancy Wynns and Dolly Self both of San Diego, California, 2 brothers: David Self of Dallas, Texas and James Self of Stillwater, Oklahoma, 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grand children.
She was preceded in death by: 1brother JR Magahee, 1 sister: Julia Self, 1 granddaughter: Jenna Young, her parents: William (Doad) and Ada Walker Self.
