Gowin, Russell E. 64, retired Boeing design engineer, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Monday, November 1, 2010 at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Russell (Russ) was born in Windsor, Missouri on Jan. 25, 1946. He was known as a witty, loving and compassionate man. Russ was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed spending time with his three dogs: Winston, Joey and My Girl. Highlighted accomplishments include bowling many 300 games and his most recent a hole-in-one at the age of 64. Survivors include his loving wife, Connie, of 25 years; son Todd (Zona) Bartlett, daughter Alison Floyd; grandchildren Cody, Corrigan, Kylee, Caden, Dezmond and Chloe of Wichita; mother Goldie A. Beard; sisters Judith (Ron) Pearson and Mary (Kenneth) McMillan of Missouri; friends Norm and Debbie Christiansen, Bob and Sue Dondlinger of Wichita and countless other relatives and friends. Visitation will be 7 to 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, November 3, 2010 and Celebration of Live 10 a.m., Thursday, November 4, 2010. Both will be held at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W. Hwy 54, Wichita, KS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, 313 S. Market, Wichita, KS 67202 or The Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219.
