Charles was a devout communicant of St. Mary Mother of the Church in Fishkill. He worked at IBM and Texaco as an Environmental Chemist before his retirement. He was an active birder, being a lifelong member of the Ralph T. Waterman Bird Club for over 30 years also serving on several committees. He was a lifelong member of the Marist CLS for Adult Education. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, playing chess and he was an avid chef for home cooked meals.
On September 5, 1953 in Syracuse, NY, he married Louise Billy. Louise passed away on February 5, 2010. Charles is survived by his three sons, Phillipe Martinez of Florence, AZ, Andre Martinez and his spouse Cathy of Bedford, NH and Jose Martinez and his spouse Annemarie of Bethlehem, CT; two daughters, Santia Hotaling and her spouse Bruce of Fishkill and Dominique Angelucci and her spouse Robert of Atlanta, GA; nine grandchildren, Amanda, Kendra, Joseph, Emily, Rebecca, Kyle, Robert, Bruce and Carly.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2016 from 2 to 4 PM, at the Robert H. Auchmoody Funeral Home, 1028 Main Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 12, 2016 at 10:15 AM from St. Mary Mother of the Church, followed by burial in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
