Services were held at 10:30 a.m. this morning in the Norman Funeral Home in Hope for Moody P. Oliver, 83, Hartsville, who died Friday, Aug. 26, at 6:30 p.m., in the Bartholomew County Hospital in Columbus, having been ill several weeks.
Mr. Oliver was born Feb. 5, 1900, in Bartholomew County, the son of William and Emma Hamilton Oliver. He was married to Fannie Spaugh in 1929, and she survives. He was employed at the Golden Foundry in Columbus for 26 years, retiring in 1965.
He was the last of 10 children, and is survived by his widow, two daughters: Ruth Hollman, Hartsville and Lois Snodderly, North Vernon; one son, Arron Eugene Oliver, Columbus; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Dallas Collier officiated at the services, and burial was in the Hope Moravian Cemetery.
