Arletha Layton, 79 of Lindsay. She was a retired nurse who had worked at the Lindsay Municipal Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Erin Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery, Lindsay.

Services under the direction of Winans Funeral Service, Maysville, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Arletha June Layton, daughter of the late J.R. Mullens and Edna Josephine Mullens was born May 13, 1937 in Foster, Oklahoma where she lived with her brothers Glenn and Manson and sister Juanice. She attended the public school of Elmore City, where she met and later was joined in marriage to James C. Henderson on January 25, 1955 at Foster, Oklahoma. This union was blessed with three sons, Tim, Danny, and David Henderson, two daughters-in-law, Barbara and Sue Henderson, four grandchildren, Heather Scribner, James Henderson, Jeremy Bagley, and Justin Bagley, and two great grandchildren, Kelzie Scribner and Declan Henderson. Later in life she met and was united in holy matrimony to W.L. (Roundy) Layton on December 27, 1993 at Ft. Smith, Arkansas. This union furthered her blessing with step-sons, Brian and Brent Layton, daughter-in-law, Kelly Layton, grandchildren, Brayden and Brittany Layton and McKenzie Layton. Arletha departed this life Friday, December 9, 2016 at O.U. Medical Center in Oklahoma City.

Arletha attended the Erin Springs Baptist Church for 23 years. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her family and everyone she touched. Rest in Peace Mom! We couldn't have asked for a better mom, wife, sister, aunt, cousin, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother! She will be greatly missed, never forgotten, and always loved!

She was preceded in death by her brother, Manson Mullens, daughter-in-law, Barbara Henderson and sister-in-law, Inetta Mullens.
