BELLINGHAM - Raymond H. Cadoret, 94, of Bellingham, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016 at The Village at Waterman Lake, Greenville, after a period of declining health with loving family by his side. He is the beloved husband for 69 years of Clemence B. (Brisson) Cadoret. Born in Woonsocket on April 17, 1922, he was the son of the late Adelbert and Elenda (Peloquin) Cadoret. He is the loving father of Raymond H. Cadoret Jr. and his wife, Paula of Hopedale. He leaves his cherished grandson, Alex Cadoret, and his wife, Jill, of Bellingham. He is the brother of Dr. Conrad Cadoret of Norton, Mass., and the late Roland Cadoret, formerly of Bradenton, Fla. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

He was raised in Blackstone, and worked for his father in the family-run Cadoret Brothers Jewelers in Woonsocket as a gemologist, and later worked for Sears for over 30 years before retiring in 1984.

He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran with duties in the South Pacific, with a rank of Electrician's Mate Third Class. He served on the USS Chief and the USS Wacissa, and received the World War II Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal 1 Star, American Area Medal and Good Conduct Medal.

He was past president of the Woonsocket Junior Chamber of Commerce, and a member of the Blackstone Lions Club. He was also a musician playing in local orchestras. He was a communicant of Assumption Church and St. Blaise Church.

He enjoyed traveling, the Red Sox, and playing cards. Devoted to his family, he will be greatly missed.

Funeral will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 8:30 a.m. from CARTIER'S FUNERAL HOME, 151 South Main St. (Route 126), Bellingham, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. at St. Blaise Church, 1158 South Main St., Bellingham. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland. Visiting hours are on Tuesday, Dec. 13 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
