Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Life Tabernacle with the Rev. Gerald Adams officiating.
Burial will be at Cave Spring Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Gamble Funeral Home.
A native of Christian County, he was born Feb. 14, 1946, the son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth Duncan Hurt. He was an Elder at Life Tabernacle and was the owner of Hurt and Hurt Lawn Service.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Hurt.
Survivors include his children, Virginia Erxleben, Hopkinsville, Tom Wallace and Darryne (Angie) Hurt, both of Clarksville, Torrey Hurt, Hopkinsville, David (Mero) Wallace, Dalton, Ala. and Walter Hurt Jr., Nashville; his sister, Shirley Davie, Hopkinsville; his brother, Rev. Rufus (Barbara) Hurt, Lexington and Rev. Raymond (Shelia) Hurt, Hopkinsville; 28 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
