Richard C. Gesner, 84, of Manchester, NH passed away December 24, 2015 at the Elliot Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Born in Fall River, MA on October 27, 1931, he was the son of P. William and Lucy (Hicks) Gesner. He earned his bachelor and master degrees from the University of Lowell in education.

Prior to retirement, Richard had been an elementary school teacher in the Lowell, MA school system for 32 years. After moving to the Manchester area, he owned and operated the former Manchester Manchester Record Store (now known as The Music Connection) for many years. His vast knowledge of the music industry was profound, and he loved sharing this knowledge with others. Richard was an extraordinarily trusted and loyal friend who loved to travel and will be missed deeply.

Richard was predeceased by his partner of 24 years, Robert F. Adams, who died in 2007. He was also predeceased by two brothers, William H. Gesner and Edward H. Gesner of Fall River, MA.

Family members include two brothers, Thomas G. Gesner and wife June of Tiverton, RI, George L. Gesner of Somerset, MA; 8 nephews and nieces and many great nieces and nephews. A church service was held on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Grace Episcopal Church, Manchester.
