Lynda passed away June 11, 2014. She was preceded in death by her father, Cleo Reeves Anderson, Sr.

She is survived by mother, Lillian Ailene Anderson; husband, Scott Isaac Hawkersmith; son, Scott Isaac Hawkersmith, II; daughter, Alyson Birgitta Kalhagen; brother, Cleo "Flip" (Diane) Anderson; brother, Donald (Yvonne) Manners; numerous nieces and nephews; and other members of the Hawkersmith, Hill, Martin and Anderson families. She is also survived by many special friends.

She was one of the original founders, along with Sen. Lamar Alexander, of the Tennessee Governors School of the Arts in 1984. She served as Dean of Students and Assistant Director for 30 years.

Lynda donated her body for research to Vanderbilt University. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Nashville Humane Association, 213 Oceola Avenue, Nashville, TN 37209, or the , 2000 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203, will be accepted in her name.

A Memorial service will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Dalewood United Methodist Church, 2300 Ridgecrest Drive, Nashville, TN 37216, with Dr. Alec Cort officiating.
