Burns Fred V. MM1C USN, SS 265 81 79 fate uncertain USS Houston.

Possibly same as Fred V Burns SS #310 88 22 who appears on Huston roster. See both attached crew lists. Some debate it is the same person who service number was changed which is very unlikely or possibly had 2 active service numbers as a result of re-enlistment in March of 1940.

Attached is a record of "changes" for duty for this memorial person. All of the list either were lost or captured after the sinking of the Houston. Exception with Fred V. Burns, undecided.

To date, there is no memorial nor military record for a Fred V. Burns U.S Navy MM1c 265 81 79 who survived after the Huston sinking nor was reported as a prisoner of war.

This memorial is intended to honor the Fred V Burns who served aboard the Houston prior to its loss at sea. Whether he/they survived or perished.
