Mrs. Lowry was born in Millen, Georgia to John Wilkins Collins and Vera Pauline Brinson Collins but was a long-time resident of Jacksonville, Florida.
She is survived by her daughters, Terry White Ritch and Wanda Rheinheimer Touchton, 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman Lowry, brothers J. W. Collins and Kenneth Collins, and sisters Marceline Collins Brown and Jeanette Collins Trubshaw, and great-grandson Phillip Ritch.
She was member of Promise Land Baptist Church. She is remembered for her love of her church and activities with her Sunday School class. She enjoyed planning parties for her family and church friends. She also decorated weddings and other occasions for many family members and friends. She was thrifty, energetic, and welcoming to all.
