Pearl Swaffar Kennedy the daughter of Elbert and Oma Reedy Swaffar was born in Pearson, Arkansas on December 1, 1908 and passed away in Conway, Arkansas on November 26, 2005 at the age of 96 years. She was a lifelong resident of Pearson and Quitman in Cleburne County and her religious belief was Baptist. She was a retired salesperson for Creations a clothing store in Heber Springs. Pearl enjoyed being a wife, mother and grandmother. Her goals were to teach her family to love and enjoy life itself. She was a Baptist and instilled in her family love and knowledge of her lord and savior. Survivors include six daughters Mrs. Muirl Pierce of Drasco, Mrs. Elfreda Johnston of Sherwood, Mrs. Edyie McDonald of Pittsboro, North Carolina, Mrs. Carolyn Peeden of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Mrs. Linda New of Quitman and Mrs. Donna Bogle of Springhill, Louisiana. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by her husband Elmer who passed away on May 20, 1976 and two daughters Wanda Sue and Audra and a great granddaughter Angie Butler.


Funeral services will be held at Olmstead Chapel on Tuesday, November 29, at 2:00 PM by Rev. Jim Bundy and Rev. Joe Kennedy with grandsons acting as pallbearers and interment in Goodlow Cemetery by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc. of Heber Springs.
