Earl Jerry Rice, age 64, of Quitman, Arkansas, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 17, 2005. Born in Quitman on February 7, 1941, he was the son of the late K. A. "Boss" and Millie (Holliman) Rice.
A lifetime resident of Quitman, Mr. Rice was a factory employee. He enjoyed hunting and bow shooting, and he was a member of the Bow Hunters of Arkansas. Mr. Rice was a member of the Flat Rock General Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda (Pate) Rice of Quitman; three sons, Jesse Rice of Conway, Dewayne Skinner of Greenbrier, and Jeremiah Rice of Quitman; five daughters, Debbie West of Austin,Tracy Metzger of Conway, Donna McDaniel of Searcy, and Amy Brown and Angela Hooten, both of Greenbrier; one brother, John Rice of Conway; two sisters, Lenora Holliman of Quitman, and Joyce Woodard of North Little Rock; 15 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Mr. Rice is also survived by other relatives and his many friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral services will be held Sunday, Nov. 20, at 2:00 p.m. in the Flat Rock General Baptist Church with Rev. Jim French officiating. Interment will follow in the Flat Rock Cemetery.
