Gertrude B. Griffis of Montrose, PA
Gertrude B. Griffis, 99, of Montrose, PA passed away, Thursday, December 8, 2016 at her home. Born June 28, 1917 in Jessup Twp., Susquehanna County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Warren Seeley and May [Stanford] Babcock. Her husband Robert T. Griffis predeceased her in 1995.
She was employed as a Beautician and operated a beauty shop from 1955-1975.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Montrose, the Ernestine Rebekah Lodge #548, Rush, PA for over 65 years, Daughters of the American Revolution [D.A.R.], and was previous member of the Montrose BPW and the Montrose Club.
She loved quilting, sewing clothes for her family, and hunting. Gertrude was a Sunday school teacher and Cub Scout Master for many years.
Survivors include sons & daughters-in-law, Robert Dudley Griffis of Brackney, PA, Kenneth Seeley [Leesa] Griffis of Wilmington, NC, Stanley Guy [Linda] Griffis of Montrose, PA, and Retired Major, Thomas Albert [Marilyn] Griffis of Daleville, AL, 11 Grandchildren, and 14 Great Grandchildren..
Besides her parents & husband she was predeceased by Siblings, Edwin, Elwin, Arnold, Mary, Bessie, Sylvia & Emma, Grandson, Arnold.
Services: Will be in June of 2017, on her birthdate.
