Mr. Baumgardner, a Grover native, retired as a Southern Railroad yard
conductor after 41 years. He was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and a World War II Army veteran.
Survivors are his wife, Margaret; daughters, Mrs. Judy Allison of
Chesapeake, Va., Mrs. Carol Breneman of Indian Trail; brothers, Harry
Baumgardner of Greenville, S.C., Clayton Baumgardner; sisters, Mrs. Myrtle
Adams of Matthews, Mrs. Montie Crisp of Grover; stepson, Paul Heaton; four
grandchildren.
