Following an extended illness, Mrs. Elizabeth Schlegel, 93, of 215 Abend Street, died at her home at 8:15 a.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Schlegel was the widow of William J. Schlegel, a plumbing and heating contractor, who died in 1942. She was born in Belleville April 11, 1873 to the late Victor and Caroline Gantner, nee Sattler.
Surviving are a daughter Irma, wife of Arthur C. Nold, 215 Abend Street; a sister, Mrs. Emma L. Herman, 111 East Adams Street; two grandchildren: William F. Brandenburger, Nashville, Ill., and Mrs. Ann Imboden, 33 Lakeshore Drive, and three great-grandchildren, Francis, Elizabeth Ann and William Imboden. A daughter, Mrs. Aurelia Braunersreuther, died September 23, 1963, and several brothers and sisters preceded her in death.
She was a member of the Perpetual Help Society of St. Peter Cathedral.
The funeral Mass will be read at 9 a.m. Tuesday at George Renner and Sons Funeral Home by the rev. Joseph Trapp, an assistant at the cathedral. Burial will be in Green mount Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3:30 p.m. Monday and Rosary services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Monday.
