Born: April 16, 1754 at Fishkill, N. Y.
Died: August 22, 1837 in town of Watertown, Jeff. Co., N.Y.

Died: March 20, 1837 aged 82 yrs. (g.s.) in town of Watertown, N.Y.

Service: John Losee enlisted at White Plains in Capt. Horten's Co. of Col. Bronkenhoff's Regt. for two weeks and then went into Capt. Wellessy's Co. of the same regiment. Does not remember the year but it was when Burgoyn surrendered. His service was along the Hudson River, watching shipping and property. Length of service thirteen and one half months.

Remarks: John Losee and his wife were buried in a family cemetery, with other members of the Losee family, on Dry Hill in the town of Watertown, N.Y. The Losee farm was sold and the owner wishing to build a barn where the cemetery was so notified members of the family. As no one was interested enough to see to the removal to some other spot, the owner of the farm copied the stones and took them up, and built his barn.

Gravesite Details

This was a small family cemetery on Dry Hill, south of Watertown. It was destroyed by the farmer who bought the homestead.
