Lewis E. Pitts of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and Ocean City, Maryland, died at the Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin, Maryland, on May 27, 2001.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Julius and Macy Pitts, four sisters and three brothers. He was a member of Ephesus Christian Church, and a retired Chief of Rural Electric at the Agriculture Department in Washington, D.C. He served in the Marines in Japan during World War 11.

He is survived b one brother, Joseph Pitts and wife Louise of Temple Hills, Md.; four sisters, Jeannette Belfield of Montross, Clara Pitts, Violet Taylor and Pearl Wolko, all of Richmond; five nephews, Frank Belfield, Thomas, Paul and Kenny Pitts, all of Montross and Gary Sydnor of Richmond; Four nieces, Joyce Ann Sudduth of Montross, Page Scroder, Rebecca Jackson, Vicky Deeds, Carolyn Burgess and Patricia Pitts and other Relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held at Ephesus Christian Church, Foneswood, June 23.
