Hildur Ann Wilson Housen Ashby was born to Mason County pioneers, Ed and Hulda (Karlson) Wilson on May 11, 1916, Harstine Island, Mason County, Wash. She died on Oct. 21, 2013 at Hospice Care Center in Bremerton.

Hildur graduated from Irene S. Reed High School in Shelton in 1935. She lived most of her life at the family home on Harstine Island until a recent illness forced her to move to Foster Meadows Adult Care Facility of Bremerton.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Bernard Housen; second husband Charles "Bill" Ashby; and son B. Edward.She is survived by sisters, Hazel and Ednal; daughters, JoAnn and Brenda; sons, Denis (Debbie) and Sevrin (Marie); 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren.

Hildur was active in Harstine Island Women's Club and Ladies Pinochle. Internment will be at Harstine Island Cemetery on Nov. 2, 2013 at 1 p.m. followed by a gathering at the Harstine Island Community Club.
