Robert L. Baum, 81, of Evansville passed away at 8:45 pm, Thursday, December 15, 2016 at St. Mary's Medical Center.

Robert was born January 9, 1935 in Chandler, Indiana the son of the late Harold and Hazel (Matthews) Baum. He was a 1953 graduate of Central High School. Robert retired from Whirlpool in 1997 where he had worked as research engineering technician. He was a member of The Cathedral-A Bible Centered Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Betty (Stevens) Baum of Evansville; sons, Terry Baum (Debbie) of Winter Park, FL and Bryan Baum (Pamela) of St. Louis, MO; his granddaughter whom he and Betty raised, Melissa Edmondson (Scott) of Evansville; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Rebecca Lynn Baum; daughter, Janet Renee Hunter; granddaughter, Danielle Baum and brothers, Jerry and Randall Baum.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at The Cathedral, 5000 N First Ave, Evansville with Pastor Rick VanHoose, Pastor Terry Baum and Pastor Matthew Baum officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 3 pm until 7 pm, Monday, December 19, 2016 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Ave., Evansville and again from 10 am until time of service at 11 am, Tuesday at The Cathedral.
