James Marshall Cargal, 94, passed away on December 15, 2016. He was born to the late Archie Cargal and Nora Frady Cargal on September 20, 1922 in Dalton, GA. Jim was a family man through and through. He loved God, his wife, his children, his sons-in-law, his grandchildren, and great grandchildren UNCONDITIONALLY. Any story about them was music to his ears. He proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. After his military service, he graduated from Georgia Tech and went to work for Goodyear Tire. He retired with over 30 plus years as a chemical engineer.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Leoda "Lee" Cargal, son, James L. Cargal, Daughters; Janice Burlovich and husband, Michael and Jenny Krieski and husband, Bill, brothers; Guilford and Raymond Cargal, sister, Joyce Nackley, Don, 7 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life, with military honors, will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 4400 Pleasant Grove Church Rd., Raleigh. Burial will immediately follow service in Floral Gardens Cemetery, High Point, NC. The family will receive guests on Monday, December 19, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh.
