Brenda J. Foster, 65, of Gloversville passed away peacefully on Monday, December 19, 2016 at Nathan Littauer Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Born December 18, 1951 in Johnstown, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Florence James Henderson.

Brenda and her husband Alfred “Sonny” dedicated a lot of their time to helping others, volunteering at The Gathering in Gloversville and at the Gloversville Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed going on cruises on Lake George, camping and being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Brenda worked at many local businesses including Coleco Industries, Robinson & Smith, and as a home health aide and caretaker.

Survivors include her beloved husband Alfred “Sonny” Foster, Jr.; sons Charles McSpirit (Fiancé Ronda Warner), Joseph McSpirit (Barbara), Patrick McSpirit (Tiffany) and Douglas McSpirit (Fiancé Ilene Lohmeyer); daughter Rachael McSpirit-Wilson (Craig Ambrosino); step-daughters Nancy Walters and Betty Vallieu; brother Edward “Ed” Henderson (Tracy); sisters Linda Morely (Mike), Mary McSpirit-Horning (David, Sr.) Virginia “Ginny” Cameron (Kenneth) and Betty Crowter; grandchildren Stephen Walters, Andrew Walters, Christina Wilson, Ashley McSpirit, Austin McSpirit, Krystal McSpirit, Amy Walters, Timothy Wilson, Dale VanAllen, ShawAnn McSpirit, Zachary McSpirit, Joe McSpirit, Liz Beth McSpirit, Lucas McSpirit, Jacqueline McSpirit, Kayla Wilson, Jaycee McSpirit, Kayla, Mariah, Craig, Jr., Crista and Shali. Brenda is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brother Stephen A. Henderson.

Cremation will follow at Parkview Crematorium, Schenectady. Inurnment at Ferndale Cemetery, Johnstown will be held in the spring at a time to be announced.
